Thursday July 31: Learn like a baby

The notable experience today is that I’m trying to learn foreign languages by hearing and reading folklore. It’s a nice way to acquire cultural knowledge and immerse myself conveniently in that mindset.

I’m having Aki read me Japanese folk tales. She started tonight with the tale of Momotaro, a boy born from a giant peach who picks up a lot of animal comrades and defeats an island of monsters with their help.

my mom told me that folk tale too when I was a kid. There’s a song that goes along with it, with hand motions.
