Wednesday November 19: Catching up

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I crack myself up with my bad puns and double meanings. I spent the day getting caught up with where I should be and now I’m officially up to date on my blog. Expect better updates from now on.

Thought: Never look back. Nothing lasts forever.

Tuesday November 18: Covering gaps

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I spent most of the day doing statistics homework and preparing for the CFA exam. It is slow going and I am not making the progress necessary to succeed. It is officially time to worry.

Monday November 17: Back to work

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Now that I’m back in Berkeley, it’s time to get back to business. The next big deal is the CFA exam in three weeks, which I am not prepared for. Although I’ve been doing well in economics, statistics, and law, my knowledge in finance continues to lag, so I’ll need to cram that knowledge in.

Sunday November 16: Havoc back home

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Friday November 14: Trip to LA

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

I spent the entire day driving down to Los Angeles and was quite exhausted at the destination, so I was unable to do very much studying at all. Our group ended up watching Quantum of Solace, which I thought was a pretty bad movie. I was particularly outraged at the lack of injuries and the never-ending series of chase scenes. Maybe it was eye strain from driving for so long, but I felt like it was all very dizzying.

Thursday November 13: Planning the trip

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

This weekend is Western Collegiates and most of the day was dedicated to preparing for that. Miraculously, I got the rental car a day early and it took a few hours to sort out how to fit 7 people and gear into a large SUV.

Wednesday November 12: Thinking of strategy

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Now that the major tests are done with, I spent most of the day thinking about my strategy for Western Collegiates.  The planning for the trip itself is not well done, so I had to take some time to help with that too.

Tuesday November 11: Not quite there

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

I took the CMA exam today and failed it by two questions. I mixed up the basic economic concept of appreciating currency and I did awful on the financial section. I was trying to think of ways to spin this as not too bad, but I wanted to pass this test quite badly and it didn’t happen. This was a big disappointment, a fairly humbling experience.

Thought: Lack of preparation caused this.
